Product Description

What is guar gum?

Guar gum is also known as guar gum, guar gum or guanidine gum. Its English name is Guargum. Guar gum is obtained from the endosperm of Guar bean seeds after peeling and embryo removal, after cleaning, drying and crushing, adding water, then hydrolyzing under pressure, precipitating with  centrifuging and separating, drying and crushing. Commodity gum is generally white to light yellowish brown powder, nearly odorless, and has no other odor. It generally contains 75%-85% polysaccharide, 5%-6% protein, 2%-3% fiber and 1% ash.
Guar gum is a non-ionic galactomannan extracted from the endosperm of Guar bean, a leguminous plant. Guar gum and its derivatives have good water solubility and high viscosity at low mass fraction. Because of this characteristic, it has many applications, such as paper making, textile printing and dyeing, etc. 

Function of guar gum

Guar gum powder can be fully hydrated in hot and cold water to form a translucent solution. The guar gum has the highest viscosity after fully dissolving. Long time high temperature treatment will lead to the degradation of guar gum itself and the decrease of its viscosity. Guar gum is the most viscous natural gum which is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol.
Guar gum solution is a pseudoplastic fluid with non-Newtonian characteristics, and has a stirring effect. At the same time, it has good compatibility with inorganic salts.
