GPPS are glossy, transparent particles. Light quality, low price, low water absorption, good coloring, dimensional stability, good electrical properties, transparent products, easy processing.
GPPS are soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, aliphatic ketones and esters but can only swell in acetone. It is resistant to some mineral oils, organic acids, bases, salts, lower alcohols and their aqueous solutions. It has low water absorption and can maintain its mechanical properties and dimensional stability in humid environment. Excellent electrical performance, volume resistance and surface resistance are high, and is not affected by temperature, humidity changes, also not affected by corona discharge. Radiation resistance is also very good.

Universal grade polystyrene is a thermoplastic resin, colorless, odorless, tasteless and shiny, transparent bead or granular
solid. Density 1.04 ~ 1.09, transparency 88% ~ 92%, refractive index 1.59 ~ 1.60. Under the action of stress, birefringence is
produced, that is, the so-called stress-optical effect. The melting temperature of the product is 150 ~ 180ºC, the thermal
decomposition temperature is 300ºC, the thermal deformation temperature is 70 ~ 100ºC, the long-term use temperature is 60 ~ 80ºC.
When the temperature is 5-6 ºC lower than the hot deformation temperature, the stress can be eliminated and the hot deformation
temperature can be increased after annealing treatment. If a little α-methyl styrene is added in the production process, the heat
resistance grade of universal polystyrene can be improved.
GPPS has the characteristics of high transparency, good luster, easy processing, good dimensional stability and so on. It is

containers, such as high-frequency insulation materials, TV guide, chemical containers, etc. Suspended POLYMER RESIN can be made
into different density of foam plastic, used as insulation, sound insulation, shock proof, floating, packaging materials, cork
substitutes, pre-foaming body can be used as water filtration medium and preparation of lightweight concrete, low foam plastic can
be made into synthetic wood furniture.
