Resveratrol is an anthraquinone terpene compound, mainly derived from the rhizome extract of Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc. Polygonum cuspidatum: perennial shrub-like herb, up to more than 1 meter high. Rhizome recumbent underground, woody yellow-brown, with obvious knots. The stem is erect, cylindrical, glabrous on the surface, scattered with many red spots, hollow. Single leaves alternate, broadly ovate to nearly round, 7-12cm long, 5-9cm wide, apex shortly pointed, base round or cuneate; petiole 1-1.5cm long, membranous, brown, caducous.
