Paraffin wax, colorless to white translucent block, tasteless and odorless, with a greasy feeling. Soluble in ether, volatile oil or various fatty oils, slightly soluble in ethanol. It is chemically stable and does not react with acids, alkalis, oxidants, and reducing agents. It will turn yellow in color under ultraviolet radiation and can be burned and decomposed.
