      Lauric acid, also known as dodecane acid, is a saturated fatty acidIts molecular formula is C12H2402. Although called lauric acid, itonly accounts for 1-3% of the oil. At present, the vegetable oils withhigh content of lauric acid are coconut oil (45-52%), oil palm seedoil (44-52%) and babassu seed oil (43-44%).Although lauric acid isa saturated fatty acid, its cardiovascular risk is lower than othersaturated fatty acids.

 

1. Lauric acid is mainly used to produce alkyd resins, weting agents, detergents, pesticides, surfactants, food additives and cosmetics

2. Lauric acid is used as a surface treatment agent for the preparation of bonding. lt is also used in the manufacture of alkyd resinschemical fiber oils, pesticides, synthetic fragrances, plastic stabilizers, anti-corrosion additives for gas oline and lubricants.

3. Lauric acid is the raw material for the production of soaps, detergents, cosmetic surfactants and chemical fiber oils.
