welan gum is a microbe heteropolysaccharide synthesized by some alkali-producing bacilli. Its main chain structure is composed of D-glucose, D-glucuronic acid, D-glucose and -rhamnose-repeating units, and its side chain is composed of single -rhamnose-mannose or -rhamnose-repeating units. welan gum has the properties of thickening, suspension, heat stability, flocculation and acid and alkali resistance, and has a wide range of applications in petroleum, concrete, food, ink, medicine and other industries. Since its discovery in the 1980s, Wilan gum has attracted great interest in the industry because of its unique rheological properties in aqueous solution.
