Calcium bromide is an inorganic salt with the molecular formula CaBr2. It is colorless oblique needle crystal or crystal block, odorless, salty and bitter taste. The relative density is 3.353 (25°C). Very soluble in water, neutral in aqueous solution, soluble in ethanol, acetone and acid, slightly soluble in methanol and liquid ammonia, insoluble in ether or chloroform. Can form double salts with alkali metal halides.
