What's Inulin Powder?

Inulin is a reserve polysaccharide in plants, mainly derived from plants, and Jerusalem artichoke has the highest inulin content. Inulin is contained in the protoplasm of cells in the form of a colloid. Unlike starch, inulin is easily soluble in hot water and precipitates out of water when ethanol is added, and does not react with iodine. Moreover, inulin is easily hydrolyzed to fructose under dilute acid, which is characteristic of all fructans. Inulin is another energy storage form of plants besides starch. It is an ideal functional food ingredient and a good raw material for the production of fructooligosaccharides, poly fructose, high fructose syrup, crystalline fructose, and other products.
